Software

As far as we are aware, MLwiN (Rasbash, J., Steel, F., Browne W. and Prosser, B. (2004)), with the our macros, is the only package within which it is possible to both fit multilevel models of interest and use multilevel models for imputing missing data.

This can be important; as discussed by Carpenter & Goldstein.

The latest version of these macros (Feb 2008) can be downloaded from the Registered Users area.

REALCOM software

This windows beta-software fits 2-level multiple response (continuous, ordinal, categorical) models, where all variable types can be specified at either level. It can be used for multilevel multiple imputation where variables of any response type are paritally observed at either level 1 or level 2. It is written by Harvey Goldstein and can be downloaded from here.
